A team of nine pastors from four
states ministered to Haitian pastors and lay leaders through a
three day seminar. The focal teaching was from Revelation
chapters one through three. The team also held morning seminars
at the Chardene and MPCA schools. Here are the notes from the
team's days of ministry in Haiti.

Hello,
Thank you all
for your prayers. Our travel was just fine. We all arrived
safely, but arriving later in the afternoon, we traveled to the
hotel in Montrouis mostly in the dark.
Today was a
great day. We left the hotel at 8:30 and arrived at our Chardene
School to give a morning presentation to the 7th through 12th
grade students. The building was packed, they sang with joy,
Pastor Herb's presentation was well received, and we were all
taken by the students.
Before the
seminar, we were able to tour the school and see the primary
grades in their classes.
After lunch,
we rested and then headed off to the mission center for our
afternoon/evening seminar with the pastors. Another packed
building with one pastor coming from Haiti's southern town of
Les Cayes. Tom gave a great introduction to Revelation. Curtis
and Paula shared about the death of their son and how Jesus'
supremacy never wavered. Pastor Herve gave all a "thumbs up" on
day one of the seminar.
The weather is
very pleasant. It is cool in the evening, but it did heat up
this afternoon. All are feeling well and boy are they feeding us
well.
Lots of rice
with a variety of toppings; chicken, seafood, and turkey. The
hotel manager said the turkey was from the USA.
We are tired
and are ready for a good night's sleep.

Hello,
Wednesday was
another good day. All are well. The day was hotter than
yesterday.
We did a
morning seminar in Chardene again today. It went well. We were
able to spend a few minutes with the younger children as we were
leaving.
They loved
having their picture taken.
We had a good
lunch discussion and prepared for the evening seminar.
The pastors
seminar was well attended. We are expecting over 200 to receive
certificates for attending all three nights. Tom shared from
Revelation 2 as two others shared personal stories.
We had
opportunity at supper to have a group of pastors share with us
about the challenges they face. We will be able to pray for them
as they deal with supplying for the physical needs of their
congregations and dealing with government prejudice.
Keep the
Haitian pastors in your prayers.

Hello,
As I type, the
sun is setting and the pastors seminar is beginning. We finish
the seminar tonight. Tom has done a wonderful job. Tonight's
teaching will be shorter to leave time for questions and the
certificate distribution. Sonya will be sharing a personal story
tonight. Lisa and Pastor James shared last night. It has been a
good seminar.
This morning
we were at our main school MPCA. There are 1,400 students there
and Pastor Herb spoke with 250 of older students.
After the
morning session, we toured the grounds of MPCA seeing the
clinic, kitchen, vocational school, goats, and moringa trees.
All appreciated the ministry and its work here in Haiti.
It was another
sunny day here. All are feeling well and the good rice keeps
coming. :)
We started the
conversation at lunch to prepare to return home. Coming from
Haiti and entering American culture at Christmas time will have
its challenges. For the pastors, they will hit the ground
running as the Church prepares for the Christmas celebration.
All of us will need to juggle the reality of American abundance
and Haitian need. Pray for each of us as we come home.
We leave early
in the morning for the airport. Pray for safe travel.
Thank you for
supporting us in your prayers.
