Student Leadership Development
Think back when you were an impressionable young person. You probably had the benefit of teachers who cared, a coach who motivated you, a youth pastor who took the time to show you God’s love, or parents who lived in your home and gave you proper discipline. These things are not a reality for most youth in Haiti and the areas we minister in the Dominican Republic. The unfortunate result is delinquency, lack of jobs, prostitution, or a criminal life. |

What’s the solution? Mission Possible provides Godly mentors and encourages young men and women to develop the unique abilities and gifts God has placed in them. Through Leadership Development, we are literally training a future generation of pastors, evangelists, teachers, and doctors.
12 student leaders from each school have been identified for
this program.
Teacher Seminars
Imagine a country where most teachers have never taken a college course, and many teachers have not yet completed high school. Imagine a teacher who wants to conduct their class with excellence, but doesn’t have the adequate background, education, or training.
Mission Possible’s Teacher Seminars provide practical training
for Haitian and Dominican teachers. We send North American
teachers and professionals to Haiti and the Dominican Republic
to increase the knowledge base of indigenous teachers. Program
attendees include not only Mission Possible teachers, but other
private and public school teachers as well. Teacher Seminars are
held during the Summer break and have had in excess of 120 teachers in attendance.
Pastor Seminars
In North America, we are blessed with pastors who have typically completed their high school, undergraduate, and seminary degrees. They are able to participate in regular continuing education courses to help them be better pastors.
This is not the case in Haiti. Many pastors and lay leaders have not had the opportunity to complete high school. Attending college or seminary is an unattainable luxury when you can’t find enough work to feed your family. And most times, seminary training is unaffordable, or simply unavailable.
Mission Possible’s Pastor Seminars give well-grounded training
for both pastors and lay leaders alike. Led by mature Dominican,
Haitian, and North American pastors and seminary instructors,
the Pastor Seminars are well-attended and well-received, with
162 at the most recent Seminar.
Mission Possible desires to hold Pastor Seminars on a quarterly basis, depending on the Haitian security situation. |
