PRAYER REQUESTS
OCTOBER 2008
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we
have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill
you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual
wisdom and understanding. Col 1:9
WEEK 1, OCT 1 – 7:
Mission Possible has sent a
container to the
Dominican Republic with school
supplies, computers, desks, etc. It has arrived but is
still waiting on the dock. Please pray that it will be
released soon and for a smooth and safe unloading and
arrival to Ebenezer School. (DR)
This last month Haiti was
severely hit by storms and hurricanes Fay, Gustav,
Hanna, and Ike, causing many to lose their lives,
possessions and hope. Bridges and roads have been
washed out, keeping refugees from returning home and
prohibiting the effective delivery of food and fuel.
The Haitian government does not have an effective way to
deal with this, so Mission Possible Haiti has taken this
opportunity to reach out with the Gospel and help feed
refugees and others who are in need of a good nutritious
meal. We are also helping those who need repairs to
their homes. Please pray for the country as they
recover (physically and emotionally), the continued
provision to reach out and for the refugees to be able
to return home soon. (H)
Due to the crisis left by the
hurricanes, school has been delayed and will start on
October 6th. Please pray for the teachers
and students to have a great start to the school year.
(H)
WEEK 2, OCT 8 – 14:
Ebenezer School has maxed
out its occupancy and is now in need of more space in
order to add 11th grade next school year.
Some land next to the school might be available to
purchase. Please pray for God’s wisdom in the next
steps toward this project. (DR)
Join us in praising the Lord
for His hand of safety upon each of our staff and
teachers as they experienced severe weather this last
month from the hurricanes. There have been many deaths
reported in the areas where our schools are located, but
all the MP staff and teachers have survived. As far as
we know, our students are alright, but we will not know
for sure until school begins again. Please pray for
this situation. (H)
WEEK 3, OCT 15 – 21:
Some teams are getting
ready to head to the field in the next few months.
Please pray for a safe journey and much productivity.
(O)
We want to praise God for His
protection on each of our school buildings, as they are
all solidly built and have all survived the hurricanes
with no damage. (H)
Ana Dina Gonzalez was a
former student at Ebenezer School in the Dominican
Republic, who passed away a couple of months ago due to
heart failure. Her family is still going through some
very rough times right now. Mr. Gonzalez had to move
away in order to find work, while her mother is now
questioning why God has taken her daughter. The
siblings have to attend school on a scholarship this
year, because finances are tight. (DR)
WEEK 4, OCT 22 – 31:
Mission Possible Haiti
and Mission Possible Dominican Republic are in need of a
large quantity of laptop computers for the education of
their students, helping to train them for a decent job.
Please pray for the right connections and/or funds to
purchase these computers. (H & DR)
In Haiti many farms and
gardens have been wiped out and many animals killed by
the hurricanes last month, causing food and gas prices
to rise. Please pray for the staff and students of the
Mission Possible schools as most of them ride the public
buses and now have to pay more every day to get to work
and back home. (H)
